Tour: TIFF Bell Lightbox
March 23rd, 2011 4:00pm - March 27th, 2011 7:00pm
One of Toronto's new cultural gems, the Bell Lightbox is the beautiful new home of the Toronto International Film Festival. More than just the home-base for the annual festival, the building is a year-round film mecca, providing 5 public cinemas, 2 galleries for film-related art exhibitions, 3 learning studios, a centre for students and scholars, a bistro, a restaurant, and a lounge. Launched just in time for the 2010 TIFFestival, this building is where film lovers, professionals, and educators from around the world converge 365 days a year.
As dedicated to film as the Lightbox itself, our host for the evening will be Noah Cowan. Formerly a Co-Director of the festival and now Artistic Director of the Lightbox, Noah oversaw the design and construction of this special building and curates the year-round series of film screenings and gallery exhibitions. Members are invited to join Noah for a tour of the building's public spaces and behind-the-scenes areas. Following the tour and a brief Q&A period, Members will attend a screening of "Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage" in the Lightbox's fabulous new cinema.
